and 500 series panel mounts through
the new GDL 49 Satellite Data Link Transceiver. Pilots who install the
GDL 49 and subscribe to Echo
Flight's weather Data Link service can have instant access to NEXRAD
weather data, and METARS.
Echo flight uses low earth orbit satellites to deliver weather information
to the cockpit on a request basis. Weather data can be displayed in textual
or graphical format, and pilots can request it at their current location,
their destination, or anywhere in between.
